LIR Career Night Instagram Post

We had the opportunity to collaborate with our University's Career, Co-Op & Student Success Centre to host "LIR Career Night" to discover the various routes our LIR degree can take us! The conversations we had with our guest speakers, Sachi Kikuchi and Dr. Nancy Adossi, were both valuable and insightful for us to see our course theories being put into practice in a professional setting 💼 🌎

LIRCU x LLC Department's Winter Welcome & Fridge Donations

❄️Winter Welcome & Fridge Donations ❄️ event happened on Thursday, January 19th from 5 to 8 PM at the Arts Lounge (POD 394). All students enjoyed snacks & refreshments provided by the LIRCU😊 For fridge donations, all attendees were encouraged to bring at least two items* to later be donated to Community Fridges Toronto (Instagram: @cf___to).

Part II of our Grad Workshop pt. II with Dr. Dana Osborne was joined by a special guest, TMU Professor at the department of Creative Industries, Dr. Lorena Escandón! She shared her personal experience pursuing her post-graduate studies in Lunds Universitet (Sweden 🇸🇪)! Her unique perspective helped guide students' journey to grad school from an international perspective 🌍

Intercultural Dating Simulation

In the spirit of Valentine’s day, the LIR Course Union was excited to present the Intercultural Dating Simulation! This was such an excellent opportunity to learn more about interculturalism and the intricacies of it when navigating it in your personal, romantic lives. Thank you everyone who joined us with Dr. Gerd Hauck at the Intercultural Dating Simulation!

Concentrating on Concentrations

We put together a panel featuring three professors and a graduating student to speak about their field of work, the concentrations, and anything LIR-program related. Concentrating on Concentrations FAQ is a Q&A styled event that was held live on Monday, November 30th from 6-8pm. Special thanks to Dr. Osborne, Dr. Pelkey, Dr. Zafra and graduating student, Nikita Sankreacha for offering their time to help us out!

Game Night at Howl's

The LIRCU presents its first social night, Game Night at Howl’s! A movie and games night where participants along with the LIRCU team watched Howl's Moving Castle, a favourite of the Studio Ghibli films. The film is produced in Japanese and was viewed with English subtitles. Thank you to everyone that came!
